Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP) Vinabond® is manufactured by Cemotec, a joint venture of Meaka Joinway. It is used as a high-performance polymer binder to enhance the performance of dry-mix mortars, repair mortars, external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS), tile adhesives, and other systems.
RDP essentially involves spray-drying emulsion polymers (such as vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer VAc/E) into a white powder, which is then redispersed (re-emulsified) into polymer particles, achieving excellent adhesion, flexibility, and durability.

It significantly enhances the adhesion of mortar on various substrates by increasing initial grab strength and long-term bonding durability. Typical models, such as Vinabond N511, perform particularly well in tile adhesives.
Boosts mortar's deformation capacity and bridges micro-cracks. Vinabond N515 offers a deformation capacity of 0.3 to 0.5 mm in thin-layer mortar.
Extending open time and optimizing rheology simplify mortar application, improve ductility, and reduce labor.
Forms a robust polymer film to enhance bending strength, bonding stability, and freeze-thaw resistance (for example, N515 has passed over 50 freeze-thaw cycles).
It can be redispersed in latex with water. Certain models, such as the Vinabond H518, offer superior hydrophobicity, which significantly reduces water absorption rates.
We offer a range of series, including VAC/E, S/A, and VAC/VEOVA, for applications such as putty, tile adhesive, ETICS, and repair mortar.
The solid content reaches 98-100%, and PVOH colloid ensures redispersion quality and batch consistency.
A particle size of 60–100 µm enables rapid and uniform dispersion of dry powder, thereby increasing production efficiency.
MFFT enables polymer films to form at temperatures as low as 0°C. Some models (such as N516) feature lower Tg, granting superior low-temperature flexibility.
RDP increases the mortar's flexural and bonding strength. Its effect on compressive strength is minor. Results vary with formula and dosage.
Normally, RDP does not make mortar sticky or too thick. Mixing it with certain thickeners or rubber powders may alter the rheology. Meska Joinway provides specialized guidance on compatibility and formulas.
Key indicators include solid content (98-100%), ash content, fluidity, particle size distribution and redispersibility. High-quality RDP has small batch-to-batch differences, rapid dispersion and stable membrane strength.
